QB Brutality
A data-first look at how often quarterbacks are pressured, hit, and punished over the course of a season. This page will centralize rate and volume metrics for pocket stress, contact, and cumulative wear on every starting quarterback.
What this page will track
QB Brutality aggregates pressure and hit data into a single view. Once live, the dashboard will allow you to quickly compare how often passers are forced off their spot, contacted behind the line, and driven to the turf relative to dropbacks and time to throw.
- Pressure rate by game, week, and season
- QB hits, total and per dropback
- Sack rate adjusted for time to throw
- Hits on designed rollouts and play action
- Red-zone and third-down pressure splits
Status
This is a placeholder for upcoming QB pressure and punishment visualizations. Data integration and charting are in progress. Check back during the regular season for live updates.
Planned features
- Team-by-team pressure leaderboards
- Quarterback comparison views
- Filters for blitz, stunt, and simulated pressure
- Downloadable tables for research and reporting
Methodology snapshot
The final version of QB Brutality will document how pressure, hits, and sacks are charted, including source feeds, definitions for each event type, and quality checks. The focus is consistency: every quarterback will be evaluated using the same criteria, with clear thresholds for contact, disruptions, and pocket collapses.
Core definitions
- Pressure: Any play where the quarterback is forced to move, alter mechanics, or accelerate the throw due to a defender.
- Hit: Legal contact that brings the quarterback to the ground or clearly disrupts follow-through.
- Sack: A hit behind the line of scrimmage on a called pass play.
Planned metrics
- Pressure % by dropback and by true pass set
- Hits per 100 dropbacks
- Time-to-contact distribution
- Score- and situation-adjusted pressure indices

Interactive charts and sortable tables will populate this section. Users will be able to select a quarterback, filter by season or week range, and immediately see how often that passer faces pressure relative to league averages and comparable players.
Planned table placeholder: QB-level pressure, hit, and sack summary with filters for season, week, team, and minimum dropbacks.
Once the data is live, use this page to identify which quarterbacks are absorbing the heaviest workload in the pocket and how protection holds up over time.
